How to Create Internet or Network Connection in Windows XP
Setting up your computer to connect to the internet using dial-up or high-speed is simple process. This article is guide to show you steps required to setup your network or internet connection.

Create Internet broadband connection
1. Click Start and connect to, then click Show all connections or click Start, click Control panel and double click Network Connections
2. Click Create New Connection in top left pane under the Network Task section
3. Select Connect to the Internet option in the connection wizard and click next.
4. Select Set up my connection manually option.
5. If your broadband connection requires username and password to login; choose the middle option “Connect using broadband connection that requires username and password” and click next
6. Type the name of your provider or any descriptive name and click next
7. Type the username and password and click next
8. Select Add shortcut option to place a connection shortcut on the desktop
9. Click finish.


Create dial up connection
1. Click Start select and connect to, then click Show all connections or click Start, click Control panel and double click Network Connections
2. Click Create New Connection link in top left pane under the Network Task section
3. Select Connect to the Internet option in the connection wizard and click next.
4. Select Set up my connection manually option.
5. Select Connect using dial-up modem and click next
6. Type the name of your provider and click next
7. Type the phone# and click next
8. Type the username and password and click next
9. Select Add shortcut option to place a connection shortcut on the desktop
10. Click finish.
